Each Small Group Journey is paced to give you time to develop familiarity with the key places we visit. We usually stay two or three nights in an area, preferring to explore places in some depth rather than constantly moving at the expense of your experience.
For several trips, we offer both Standard and Deluxe options. Standard hotels are clean, comfortable and centrally located while our Deluxe hotels include some of Indochina’s most historic and atmospheric accommodation.

Vietnam Adventure Tours Basix
The best value adventures on the planet! On a Basix trip, you can expect some amazing experiences, but none of the inclusions or 'extras' that you may not want. Which means simple accommodation and a lot of local transport. These trips are ideal for first time travellers seeking fun and independence with the security of a group leader at hand and for backpackers wanting minimum hassle and maximum flexibility at the lowest possible price.

Vietnam Adventure Tours Comfort
Comfort is your kind of style if you want a few little extras, but don't want to compromise on the whole grassroots travel experience. You get to stay in better hotels and guesthouses, all with plenty of local character, and travel in private transport - though you're as likely to find yourself paddling a kayak as relaxing on a cruise in Halong bay. Vietnam Adventure Tours  Active and Adventure
Thrilling adventures is the simplest way to describe these trips. As you'd expect, activity is the key. Though we're talking cycling, kayaking and walking rather than rock climbing or paragliding - we'll leave the extreme sports to the experts! Active trips offer real life experiences, combining a challenging day's hike, say, with a night's stay in a hilltribe village. You don't need to be super fit for all Active trips, but they're ideal if you want a physical challenge along with plenty of cultural interaction.

If you're looking for something different (perhaps group travel isn't for you) or you want an extension to your vietnam trip, an Independent adventure could be just the thing. The food lovers' choice, Gourmet trips are all about Experienceing a country's cuisine, as well as its culture and people. Including visits to lively local markets, and fascinating cookery demonstrations, these trips offer a feast for the foodie adventurer. You can expect comfortable accommodation and a wide variety of delicious meals, from street snacks to full on banquets in some amazing restaurants. Of course, there's plenty of free time for exploring the sights too.

Meals
Cuisine is a major highlight of travel in all of the destinations we handle. Restaurants are generally safe, delicious, and a great way to experience the local culture. For this reason, we generally include daily breakfast at the hotel, lunch while touring, and several dinners per tour. We find that our clients prefer the flexibility of a few unstructured evenings in order to allow for spontaneous dining plans.

Regional Contacts
In addition to our head office in Hanoi, Vietnam and corporate office in Indochina, especially in California, we also have associate offices that handle the land operations in the rest of Indochina; each office is ready, willing and able to assist you during all stages of your trip. Before your trip, we provide you with a complete pre-departure package, including an operational itinerary listing all accommodation, touring, and transportation details, and a hotel list stating the complete names, addresses and all available contact information for all the hotels you will be staying in. We also provide you with phone numbers and addresses of our associate offices in Cambodia and Laos where you are traveling so that you have local contacts throughout your trip.

Travel Advice and Recommendations
In addition to your customized itinerary that includes recommendations for restaurants, shopping, art museums and galleries, and other activities, you will also receive recommended reading lists and country-specific practical travel information regarding weather, dress, currency, customs regulations, cultural norms, health, recommended items to bring, and other useful information.

Transportation and Flights
Our tours generally include all regional flights and surface transportation, unless otherwise specified. We book all regional air on the best available airlines, and carefully coordinate your touring to fit in with flight and travel schedules. It is this integration that makes our tours smooth, satisfying experiences. We also offer reduced coach, business and first class international airfares on some of the world's finest carriers - be sure to ask your travel specialist about special airfare rates that can be arranged in conjunction with your tour.

Transfers
Airport transfers are also included. In most destinations you will have a private car transfer you to and from each airport. In some cases airport transfers are provided by hotel bus. Your personal itinerary will specify your transfers.

Visas
Most of our tours include visa authorization and processing fees. In some countries visas are obtained upon arrival, in which case the fee cannot be pre-paid, and you will be required to pay it yourself. This is occasionally in addition to a visa authorization fee, which we can and do provide. We are able to procure most visas, and do so.

Admission fees and tax and service charges
All admission fees during touring are included in your tour cost, as are all tax and service charges for meals and hotels included in the tour. Please note that tipping, gratuity, airport departure taxes, laundry, alcoholic beverages, and other items of a personal nature are not included in the tour cost.

Prices
Any prices shown on this website are subject to confirmation and are based on two people sharing a room. Tour prices shown include accommodation & breakfast, private road transportation with driver, internal flights if appropriate, services of guide, entrance fees and meals where shown. Prices shown do not include international flights to and from Vietnam.

Putting Something Back
Vietnam Adventure Tours supports the orphanage in Hatay proviince, which assists disadvantaged, poor and disabled children through education. We also support other organisations throughout Vietnam dedicated to the improvement of education, health and living standards.

Many of our travellers are keen to contribute to the countries they visit. This may be as simple as the interaction they have with local people - their efforts to build an understanding of cultural nuances, history or a simple exchange of stories with local people in a village, restaurant or school. Others are interested to make a monetary contribution to organisations active in the advancement of child welfare, education or health in the region they are visiting. Your local guide will be more than happy to assist you in making contact with local organisations.
